Experience/Background:
Jim Moore is currently an independent consultant working with the Alliance For Strategic Leadership (A4SL) where he helps clients build leadership development strategies and programs. His expertise includes the design of succession planning systems, leadership models, and customized executive education programs that help companies achieve their strategic objectives.
Recently, Jim was Director of Workforce Planning and Development at Sun Microsystems, Inc. where for seven years, he was responsible for Executive Development, which included succession planning, executive selection and executive development, and for SunU, Sun's corporate university. Sun's education programs range from software engineering design to sales training to management and leadership development and targeted Sun's 40,000 employees worldwide.
Prior to his position at Sun, Jim was Vice President, Training and Development for Northern Telecom Ltd. (now Nortel) where he had corporate responsibility for global education programs for their 57,000 employees. He has also served as the Director of the Bell South Leadership Institute, and led management and executive development organizations at Bell Communications Research and AT&T.

Jim holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville.
