Experience/Background:
Julie Magrath has over 25 years of experience working with executives to improve their organization’s competitive advantage by improving their own leadership effectiveness. Her key focus is executive coaching across numerous functions and business sectors, with primary emphasis in the financial services, pharmaceutical and notforprofit industries.
Julie works with already successful leaders including CEOs, division presidents, and functional heads to be even more effective through behavioral change. Her focus is to help leaders who are experts in their field improve their communication and interpersonal skills, build trusting relationships with their colleagues, and be a more effective leader with their own teams. She often provides realtime leadership coaching as her clients interact with their teams to implement business initiatives.
Previously, Julie was global head of Organizational Effectiveness and Development with the American Express Company. There she consulted with the presidents of the key lines of business, helping them with their large-scale organizational change efforts such as the design and transformation of the firm into a global organization. She coached them on their leadership skills to assure implementation success.
At UBS, Julie headed the Leadership/Management education initiatives for the Americas region and was charged globally with Change Management, Culture, and Diversity. Julie headed the Americas culture assessment and integration in a series of increasingly complex mergers and acquisitions, culminating in the merger of Swiss Bank and UBS. She coached many executives facing derailment and struggling with crosscultural issues.
